Why Paris Rewards Flying Business Class
Paris is one of the most heavily served long-haul markets from the United States, with nonstop business class departing more than a dozen gateways most evenings of the week. That competition works in your favor on price, but the case for the cabin itself comes down to the schedule: most eastbound flights leave in the evening and land the next morning, so a lie-flat seat is the difference between walking into a meeting near the Opéra rested and losing your first day to jet lag.
Air France, a SkyTeam member, operates the largest transatlantic program into its Charles de Gaulle hub, with La Première and Business cabins across its 777, 787 and A350 fleet. Delta Air Lines and Air France coordinate schedules as transatlantic joint venture partners, which widens connecting options on both sides considerably.
Nonstop Carriers and CDG Terminals
Air France and Delta share Terminal 2E/2F at Charles de Gaulle and jointly operate one of the densest transatlantic schedules anywhere, from New York, Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Seattle and beyond. United Airlines flies nonstop into Terminal 1 from Newark, Chicago, San Francisco, Houston and Washington Dulles, and American Airlines serves CDG from Philadelphia, Miami, Chicago and Dallas with fully lie-flat cabins.
Typical flight times run roughly 7 to 8 hours eastbound from the East Coast, closer to 9 from Chicago, and 10 to 11 from the West Coast.
The Ground Advantage: CDG to Central Paris
Air France operates a premium arrivals experience for La Première passengers at CDG, and Delta One passengers connect through a dedicated fast-track process on joint venture itineraries. From the airport, the RER B train reaches Gare du Nord and central Paris in about 35 minutes, while a private transfer runs closer to 45 to 60 minutes depending on traffic. For a morning arrival ahead of same-day meetings, the RER B is usually the more reliable option of the two.
Unmissable Attractions in Paris
Visit the Eiffel Tower and Louvre, stroll along the Champs-Élysées, or explore Notre-Dame and the Latin Quarter on foot.
Paris's Neighborhoods
Le Marais offers historic charm and boutique shopping close to the business district, while Saint-Germain-des-Prés carries the city's classic literary café culture and remains a favored base for return visitors.
Explore Beyond Paris
Visit the Palace of Versailles, about 45 minutes by train, explore the châteaux of the Loire Valley, or take a day trip to Champagne country around Reims.
Paris's Culinary Delights
Paris remains one of the world's defining culinary capitals, home to a dense concentration of Michelin-starred restaurants alongside classic neighborhood bistros that reward a reservation made well ahead.
Luxury Hotels and Local Culture
Paris's legendary palace hotels, several dating back over a century, continue to set the global standard for luxury hospitality, concentrated around the Place Vendôme and along the Champs-Élysées.
When to Book Business Class to Paris
High season runs June through August, alongside distinct spikes around Fashion Week in late September and early October, and again in late February and early March, when hotel and premium cabin demand both tighten citywide. Book 3 to 4 months ahead for summer or Fashion Week travel; shorter windows are often workable outside those periods.
One current entry note for US citizens: France does not yet require ETIAS, the EU's new pre-travel authorization system. As of this writing ETIAS has not launched, a valid passport remains sufficient for visa-free stays of up to 90 days in the Schengen Area. When it does launch, expected sometime in 2027, it will apply to advance online registration rather than a visa, and we will update this page as soon as a firm date is confirmed.
Pairing Paris With the Rest of Europe
Open-jaw itineraries, flying into Paris and home from another city, routinely price better than two separate round trips, and Paris's position makes it one of the strongest first stops in Europe for a multi-city trip.
Eurostar reaches London in under two and a half hours from Gare du Nord, and Nice is under two hours by air for travelers wanting to add the Riviera. Rome, Barcelona and Madrid all work well as second legs on a single premium ticket. For the full picture, see our France fares and our complete Europe business class program.

FAQ
Your questions answered - everything you need to know before booking.
Not yet. ETIAS, the EU's new pre-travel authorization system, has not launched as of this writing and is now expected sometime in 2027. A valid passport is currently sufficient for visa-free Schengen stays of up to 90 days. We recommend confirming the status closer to your travel date if you're booking far in advance.
Air France's La Première and Business cabins and Delta One both benefit from the two airlines' joint venture, which widens schedule and connection options on both ends. United and American also operate strong lie-flat products, and the right choice usually comes down to your departure city and loyalty program.
True discount pricing is rare on a route this competitive during peak summer weeks, but the density of the market cuts both ways: with a dozen-plus nonstop options, unpublished contract fares tend to have more room to move than on thinner routes. That is usually a more reliable path to savings than chasing a public sale fare.
Three to four months for June through August or Fashion Week travel. Shorter windows are often workable in the quieter winter months, and because we hold contract fares rather than published inventory, we can often find availability when public sites show none.
Yes, for most arrivals. It reaches Gare du Nord in about 35 minutes and runs frequently through the morning, making it a dependable choice ahead of same-day meetings, though a private transfer remains the more comfortable option if your schedule allows extra time.
Yes. Open-jaw and multi-city itineraries, flying into Paris and home from Nice, Rome, Barcelona or Madrid, are routine and frequently price better than two separate round trips. Mention it when you request a quote.
Yes. Versailles is about 45 minutes by train, and its palace and gardens are widely considered essential, though arriving early in the day helps avoid the largest crowds.
Yes. Late September through early October and late February through early March both see a citywide tightening of hotel inventory and a corresponding rise in premium cabin demand, so booking further ahead pays off during those windows regardless of your reason for visiting.
