Nice is one of the few French Riviera airports with any direct US service at all, which makes routing the single biggest decision on this trip, more so than on almost any other European business class market we book. Get the season and the carrier right and a lie-flat seat lands you in Nice ready for a client dinner in Monaco or a full day on the coast. Get it wrong and you are stitching together a connection through Paris on a schedule that was never built with the Riviera in mind.
Delta Air Lines, a SkyTeam member, operates seasonal nonstop business class service to Nice from the northeastern US during the summer months, typically May through September, with a fully lie-flat Delta One cabin on the route. This is one of the few true nonstop options to the Riviera on any US carrier and is worth building a trip around if your dates allow it.
Getting to Nice Outside the Summer Season
Outside Delta's seasonal window, the reliable option is connecting through Paris. Air France operates frequent short connections from Charles de Gaulle to Nice year-round, and because Air France runs an extensive nonstop program from the US into CDG, a Paris connection on a single ticket is usually a smoother, better-protected itinerary than booking the two legs separately. United Airlines and American Airlines both connect through their own European hubs onward to Nice as well, worth comparing against the Paris routing depending on your home airport.
